A PIONEERING SPIR

INTEGRITY – THE FOUNDATION

FOR STABLE GROWTH

In 2025, for the 15th year running, Gerhard Schubert GmbH’s growth trajectory trended upwards. Given the global market turbulence of recent years, we don’t take this success for granted. While the German packaging machinery sector appears relatively stable – recording a 6 per cent increase in turnover in 2025 – the Schubert Group’s long-standing economic stability stems from a very different foundation. One that has sustained us for 60 years: our pioneering spirit and integrity.

We have developed our very own culture of innovation, based on mutual trust and a strong sense of personal responsibility. This gives us the tools to create future-proof packaging solutions that drive our customers’ progress. Efficient use of resources has always been key here. And we have reinforced this commitment through our Mission Blue Sustainability Initiative, which is now gaining recognition in the outside world – not least when Gerhard Schubert GmbH won the Lean & Green Management Award in the summer of 2025.

SUCCESSFUL FINANCIAL YEAR

FOR GERHARD SCHUBERT GMBH

Development of Gerhard Schubert GmbH’s overall performance over the last ten years.

In the 2025 financial year, we continued steadily along our long-standing trajectory, with Gerhard Schubert GmbH generating total revenue of EUR 356.8 million. Total output rose to EUR 353.8 million, representing growth of 7.1 per cent compared with the previous year. Although we didn’t quite reach our target total output of EUR 359.5 million, the result once again marks a new record. For the 15th year running, Gerhard Schubert GmbH has managed to increase its total output, with growth rates exceeding the industry average for German food and packaging machinery manufacturers.

Our technical and digital services have once again proven their economic value. Further factors contributing to our success include the consistent development of sustainable packaging solutions and the advice we provide to our customers through our Packaging Competence Center.

A STRONG FOCUS ON

RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT

Our capacity for innovation is one of our key strengths. With that in mind, Gerhard Schubert GmbH continues to invest heavily in digitalisation and the expansion of its product portfolio. In 2026, the R&D budget – at 9.8 per cent of total output – will once again remain the largest single budget item.

Within our machine technology portfolio, we have defined three product lines that deliver tailored packaging solutions for a variety of requirements:

>> Our highly flexible, next-generation TLM top-loading machines, featuring a completely redesigned frame, a central control system and a new bus system

>> Our LIGHTLINE product series, featuring preconfigured lines for standardised packaging tasks and exceptionally rapid commissioning

>> Our latest TOG technology series, featuring standalone, fully standardised units for individual packaging steps, offering maximum adaptability, outstanding cost-efficiency and straightforward operation

We also support our customers throughout the entire machine lifecycle with our digital services and the 4YOUconnect central customer platform. This enables Schubert customers to actively increase machine availability and make their production processes even more robust.

To secure our future viability, we are stepping up our research activities in the field of robotics through AI projects in robotics and image processing. Ongoing development of innovative assemblies and tools also enables us to expand our existing range of machines.

FUTURE STRATEGY:

INTERNATIONAL MARKETS

Bar chart illustrating the export and domestic shares from 2021 to 2025.

Development of Schubert Packaging Systems export rate over the last five financial years.

We believe that sustained growth is only possible through the continued internationalisation of our business activities. In line with this objective, we maintained a high 84 per cent share of exports in our total revenue in 2025. This exceeds the average of just under 80 per cent recorded over the past seven years. Key factors behind this achievement include growing awareness and recognition of the SCHUBERT brand and the continuous expansion of our customised service offerings.

Two factors are particularly important for Schubert in sustaining this success: first, the targeted development of expertise and staff; and second, the continued development of highly flexible, innovative machine solutions. We depend on skilled, well-trained staff and are facing challenges when it comes to filling vacancies with suitable candidates. Nevertheless, the Schubert team is growing: Gerhard Schubert GmbH currently employs 1,401 staff, 115 of whom are apprentices. And with our three product lines – TLM, LIGHTLINE and TOG – we have a future-proof portfolio, supported by our service department and our Packaging Competence Center. This provides us with everything we need for a strong international presence – our key objective for the coming years.
