Annual 2025

MOVING AHEAD TOGETHER THROUGH SUSTAINABILITY

Sustainability report 2025

Turning values

into action

In 2025, we set out the principles that unite Schubert from within into a formal set of values for the first time. These were not dictated from the top down but rather derived from our day-to-day working lives. These authentic values give us the strength to embrace necessary changes together. This is precisely what has enabled our Mission Blue Sustainability Initiative to evolve over recent years into a project involving a vast number of people. ANNUAL 2025 details everything the initiative has already achieved through an array of stories and figures.

Schubert’s management team with Ralf Schubert, Peter Gabriel and Marcel Kiessling.

“Our Mission Blue Sustainability Initiative is a genuine team project that is demonstrably driving us forward.”

Fields of activity

Four levers for sustainability

Sustainability standards are usually based on the three ESG pillars of Environment, Social and Governance. As a partner in the hotly debated and heavily regulated packaging industry, we have deliberately chosen a different approach. While we aim to become more sustainable ourselves through our focus areas of Sustainable Corporate Governance and Climate-Friendly Production, we also strive to develop packaging solutions that enable our customers to develop more sustainable methods of production. We are pursuing this goal through our focus areas of Environmentally Friendly Machinery and Services and Sustainable Packaging.

Mission Blue

1,900 people – one vision

At Schubert, we’re united by more than machine technology. What brings us together is the idea of making people’s lives a little better through our actions.

Inspired by this vision, we launched our Mission Blue Sustainability Initiative in 2023. We aim to continually reshape the world of packaging and guide our customers into the future in the most environmentally friendly and climate-conscious way possible. We can only achieve this together: as a Schubert team of 1,900 employees, as a reliable partner in the packaging industry and as a responsible company in a globally interconnected world. This is our firm conviction.

Reporting

Our sustainability pillars

At Schubert, we prioritise transparency and compliance. That’s why we publish a comprehensive sustainability report in our ANNUAL, in accordance with ESRS standards, along with the results of our double materiality analysis and our commitment to the United Nations’ global Sustainable Development Goals.

Schubert-Group

Sustainability projects

at our subsidiaries

Along with Gerhard Schubert GmbH, our subsidiaries are also driving the sustainable development of the Schubert Group. They provide us with key data for the sustainability report, covering areas such as energy, the environment and human resources. And there’s more: They are actively implementing measures of their own to conserve resources, improve working conditions and establish recyclable packaging solutions.
